About Us

Black Mantis Design began in 2007 through increasing frustration in the number of old-fashioned, slow sites still to be found online. To begin with, we mainly worked on small, HTML-based static sites, sticking to the original gameplan of simple, quick-loading sites that display the necessary information in a colourful, visual format. Since then we have expanded our services to include Content Management System development, graphic and logo design, and web hosting. Oli Pinchbeck

Oli first became interested in web design through his study of languages. He looks at code as just another way of communicating, albeit with a computer instead of with humans! He got into server-side scripting after working in the IT solutions department of a Dubai-based company, and discovered the wonders of PHP. He now concentrates mainly on HTML/CSS design and interaction, and Content Management Systems - Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress.

Alex Magee

Alex uses web design as a way to express his creative side on a computer. He comes from a technical support background; tired of the very linear "Problem A is fixed by Solution A" type work, he thought it a logical progression to start building websites. His main area of expertise lies in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator), but he also enjoys coding in HTML and PHP.
